Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed digital ecosystems by improving user engagement and personalization. However, AI-driven systems also contribute to addictive behavioral patterns through recommendation engines, infinite scrolling, and variable reward mechanisms. At the same time, AI technologies can be repurposed for mental health support, addiction detection, and recovery systems. This paper explores the technical challenges associated with AI-driven addiction and the opportunities for using AI as a recovery and intervention tool.
