Abstract: Agentic Artificial Intelligence (Agentic AI) is an emerging approach that enables intelligent systems to perform tasks with greater autonomy by combining reasoning, planning, memory, tool usage, and decision-making capabilities. Unlike conventional AI systems that mainly respond to predefined instructions, Agentic AI systems can interpret objectives, divide complex tasks into smaller steps, execute appropriate actions, evaluate outcomes, and modify their strategies when required. This paper presents a closed-loop framework for autonomous decision-making based on goal analysis, task planning, reasoning, tool selection, execution, feedback, verification, and adaptive re-planning. The proposed approach aims to improve the ability of intelligent systems to handle multi-step and changing tasks rather than producing a single response. The paper also discusses existing research, the research gap, experimental evaluation criteria, challenges, limitations, and future opportunities. The framework provides a structured foundation for developing more adaptive, reliable, and efficient autonomous intelligent systems.
