Abstract--The infrastructure for charging electric vehicles is a crucial component of the mobility sector. It displays the functional groups for electric vehicles, with smart chargers being the most widely used and offering numerous advantages over offline ones. Additionally, charger kinds are shown based on connector type, charger wattage, and application. It looks into communication methods while making reference to relevant standards for electric vehicles. Various charging modes enable the charging of electric vehicles, where a number of intricate parameters are required to guarantee high-power AC and DC charging. The structure of the ISO 15118 standard is examined together with the description and analysis of the DC communication mechanism. It also explains the OCCP protocol, which guarantees communication between the charger and the operator. Different charging modes allows to charge an electric vehicle, where a series of complex conditions are desirable.
