Abstract: Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions like Workday are being more widely adopted by enterprise organizations to help them streamline their business and enhance organizational efficiency. The challenge is to integrate Workday with the different enterprise applications, which are not always compatible with each other from a communication, data, and system perspective. This paper introduces an Intelligent Integration Architecture for Workday, which integrates REST APIs, Intelligent Middleware, API gateway management and event-driven enterprise systems to enable secure, scalable and reliable integration. To improve the interoperability between enterprise applications, communication latency and reliability of transactions, the proposed architecture utilizes intelligent request routing, automated data transformation, asynchronous event processing, and centralized monitoring. A simulation based evaluation is performed with representative synthetic workloads and compares the proposed architecture with the conventional Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), TOGAF based integration, ITIL based integration and API Gateway architecture. Experimental results prove that integration success rate, middleware throughput, scalability, API response time and event processing latency are all improved. The proposed architecture has an integration success rate of around 98%, lower response latency, higher throughput and stable performance when facing large workloads for enterprises. The results show that intelligent middleware and event-driven communication is an effective approach for modern Workday enterprise integration, which enable organizations to realize the benefits of greater operational efficiency, real-time synchronization and scalable cloud-based digital transformation.
