Abstract: Technological development has been overgrown, and when incorporated with artificial intelligence (AI) in remote health monitoring, it has brought a revolution in the healthcare sector. This review focuses on the applicability of intelligent wearable devices in advancing remote health monitoring, emphasising constant health data acquisition and instant analysis. Smartwatches and biosensors, for example, allow people to monitor aspects such as heart rate, physical activity and sleeping patterns. These devices are improved by AI algorithms, which offer the ability to predict health risks, do analytics, and provide advice. However, there are problems related to the use of HIEs. In addition to the main benefits, such as better patient health and efficient health system delivery, there are difficulties attached to it. Some challenges include data privacy issues, concerns about the learning algorithm, technicalities and how it will fit into the existing healthcare systems. The review also presents other research studies that show that using AI has brought down the hospitalisation rate and increased patient safety and the caregiver's efficiency. In future, there are prospective expectations for the direct application of AI within the RHM, potential improvements in the algorithmic accuracy, increased association with the EHRs, and future accessibility as technology becomes cheaper.
